LONDON — Former UFI Managing Director Paul Woodward has joined the MBB-Consulting Partner Group alongside its founder partners Matthias Tesi Baur (MBB), Chris Meyer (Chris Meyer Global), Tony Calanca (Calanca & Associates LLC) and Andrew Furness (Exhibition Strategy Consultant). The consultancy was created in late 2021 to help exhibition businesses emerge in a strong position from the pandemic.

Woodward’s global exhibition experience spans decades, starting in the 1980s with positions at Miller Freeman in Asia, where he stayed until 2000 when he founded Business Strategies Group in Hong Kong, where he remains Chairman. From 2010 to 2015, he was at the helm of UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, heading teams in Paris, Sharjah and Hong Kong. Since stepping down from his role at UFI, he has continued to advise companies around the world as Chairman of Paul Woodward Advisory.

“I am excited to have the opportunity to work more closely with the top team of independent industry advisors who are coming together under the banner of the MBB-Consulting Partners Group,” Woodward told Trade Show Executive. “We’ll be able offer a great deal of flexibility to tailor our team and our services to what each client really needs, while we tap into an incredible depth of experience around the world. As we all know, companies in the exhibition industry have had to reinvent themselves several times over in the past couple of years. Everyone’s looking at new ways of working and those of us advising the industry need to embrace that, too, in how we organize ourselves.”

“Paul’s global network, combined with many years’ experience in China and the rest of Asia, will add another dimension to what we can offer our clients,” MBB-Consulting Founder Matthias Baur said. “2022 will be a critical recovery year for the exhibition industry, and many companies have ambitious plans for which we hope to be able to provide support.”
