LONDON — The force behind the Exhibition Think Tank Club, MBB-Consulting, has formed the MBB-Consulting Partner Group, with Tony Calanca; Chris Meyer, CEM, CMP; and Andrew Furness as founding members. The new group will assist clients with strategy, digital transformation, commercial change management, due diligence and market research.
“For a long time now, we’ve been a loose alliance of people who knew each other and spoke regularly, and one day we said, ‘Maybe we should formalize this and make it more powerful.’ So after a series of monthly calls, we decided to do this. What’s good is that we are all already consultants so we are free to do other things as we choose, then tap into the power of the collective as we are able,” Calanca, who has more than 30 years of experience in the exhibition industry, managing domestic and international trade and consumer shows for Reed Exhibitions (RX), Advanstar, UBM and Informa, said. He is known as one of the country’s leading specialists in the management of larger-scale exhibitions.
Meyer is CEO of ChrisMeyerGlobal, an advisory and solutions provider for the global events and tourism industry. He serves on the advisory board of LuvSeats.com, an innovative fan experience platform, and Linkroom.us, a new immersive face-to-face digital engagement platform. Furness is an exhibitions strategy and sustainability consultant with more than 30 years of experience operating in China, Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Eurasia, Europe, the U.S. and the U.K.
In 2020, MBB-Consulting partnered with UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, to launch the Exhibition Think Tank Club (ETTC), a global e-platform for exhibition industry professionals from different countries and sectors to network and share their knowledge, vision and insights. ETTC members receive priority access to a wide range of online, hybrid and physical events, including a recent live gathering at ExCel London during Confex.
