CHICAGO — ConvExx announced the launch of Food Truck Owners Expo (FTO Expo), set to take place July 29-30, 2024, at the Humble Civic Center in Houston, Texas. The show aims to be the one-stop destination for established food truck owners and aspiring entrepreneurs in the industry.

“We saw a gap in the market where there wasn’t a comprehensive event where food truck owners could access both educational resources and vendor connections,” said Sheldon Kaye, CEM, Vice President of Events and Technology at ConvExx. “This realization came after thorough research into the existing landscape, where shows in various relevant sectors existed, but none offered a holistic, 360-degree experience tailored specifically for food truck owners.”

The show floor will showcase a wide range of products and services for industry professionals, and experts and consultants in insurance and financing will be on-site to provide solutions and guidance that meet the needs of the food truck industry.

The expo will also include an educational program, which was developed through extensive market research and industry feedback, covering important topics for industry professionals like marketing strategies, business management and understanding permits and laws. The programming will also include a track for those thinking they may own or manage a food truck. By creating regional shows, FTO Expo is able to provide attendees with education that is relevant to local and regional regulations.

FTO Expo will be managed by ConvExx, which produces trade shows and events globally, including many shows that rank on Trade Show Executive’s Gold 100 and Fastest 50 lists.

“The FTO Expo aligns seamlessly with ConvExx’s portfolio, particularly mirroring our successful 23-year-old Mobile Tech Expo (MTE), which aids mobile automotive technicians in business development and connects them with vital suppliers. Leveraging the proven strategies and insights from MTE, FTO Expo will adapt and apply these effective business and marketing approaches to specifically benefit food truck owners, ensuring they receive tailored, industry-relevant guidance and resources for success,” Kaye said.

Other show dates and locations for FTO Expo include Nov. 19-20,2024, at Osceola Heritage Park in Orlando, Fla., and Dec. 3-4, 2024, at OC Fair & Event Center in Costa Mesa, Calif.

“The selection of locations and regions was strategically based on the travel tendencies of food truck owners,” Kaye said. “Research indicated that most would not travel more than three hours for a show, prompting the decision to replicate the event in multiple regions to maximize accessibility.”
