SAN FRANCISCO — Dreamforce, an annual event that brings together the global Salesforce community for learning, community building and discovering new products, is iconic in the events industry.
This year’s Dreamforce was held September 17-19 in San Francisco. There were more than 45,000 attendees and hundreds of sessions.
Live AI translation and captions were provided by Wordly. The company provides live AI translation and captions for dozens of languages, making meetings and events more inclusive, accessible and engaging. The Wordly platform does not require human interpreters or special equipment, making it easier and more affordable to communicate across multiple languages.
During Dreamforce, Wordly was used for over 600 sessions in 52 rooms across six venues. In addition to real time access to translations and captions, Wordly also provided text transcripts at the end of every session which were used to generate session summaries for attendees.
Dreamforce is one of many gatherings Wordly has helped. In October, attendees at the ICCA Congress 2024 in Abu Dhabi were able to follow every main stage session in the language of their choice. Wordly partnered with ICCA to provide an AI translation platform that offered live translation at sessions. Over 60 languages were featured in real-time translation.
Wordly helps event organizers appeal to a broader audience by making their sessions more accessible whether attendees want to participate in a different language, or they prefer to read captions versus listening to the session.

Plus, there is nothing to download, just scan a QR code, select a language, and instantly read or listen to the session.

“Providing easy access to translation and captions at events has become a standard expectation versus a nice to have. AI solutions like Wordly make it easy and affordable for event organizers to offer this capability, and attendees to access. With over 3 million users across 60 countries, Wordly AI translation is becoming a standard option for forward thinking event organizers,” Dave Deasy, Chief Marketing Officer, Wordly, said.
According to Wordly’s 2024 State of Live AI Translation, a global study into the use of live translation at multilingual meetings and events, the demand for live translation is increasing. It offers increased attendee comprehension and more inclusive experiences. A whopping 97% of event organizers report that increasing inclusivity and accessibility is a priority for their events.
Some key statistics from the report include:
Frequency of multilingual trade shows and events increasing.
- 79% report non-first-language English speaking attendees increasing
- 88% report having 2 or more non-English languages spoken among event attendees; 40% report 6 or more languages
- 53% report at least one-fourth of attendees aren’t first-language English speakers
Trade show planners who have used AI-powered tools for translation report these three benefits.
- Timesaving (64%): Faster than humans.
- Reduced cost (60%): Pay flat rate for all languages vs. paying by language.
- Simplified logistics (54%): No need to book a translator or find space for them.
