Chicago, IL – The Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO) announced today that it is issuing an RFP for the contract to manage the association. The contract with The Rebedeau Group, which has managed the association for the past seven years, ends in 15 months.
In 2000, SISO signed a three-year contract with the firm. That contract had been renewed several times and extends through the end of 2008. “Mary Beth Rebedeau and her team have done a fine job in managing the association, but the board felt it prudent to review its management options, which it has not done since 2000,” said SISO Chairman Carl Pugh.
The organization, which includes virtually every independent show management company in the United States, is seeking someone to run SISO from the executive directorship on down through membership development and organization of SISO events.
Britton Jones, SISO’s vice chairman, will oversee the search committee which will be comprised of the current executive committee of SISO.
Pugh said The Rebedeau Group can bid on the job it has held since 2000. It was not immediately known if the Chicago firm would submit a proposal.
