Sharon Enright Named President of NXT Events Media Group

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

Norwalk, Conn. – Sharon Enright was named President and COO of NXT Events Media Group, LLC, the boutique event planning firm launched last year by her longtime colleague and collaborator, Britton Jones.

Enright started her trade show career with Reed Exhibitions. As President and COO, she will be in the forefront of the expansion of NXT’s operations.

“Sharon has a truly special blend of talents as she is just as facile with detailed budgets and finance as she is with design and creative concepts,” said Jones, Chairman & CEO of the fledgling firm.

Jones and Enright spent a productive 18 years together at the helm of Business Journals Inc. (BJI), which was sold to UBM in April 2016 for $69 million. At the time, BJI was making a strong surge in the fashion events sector. As the head of the BJI Fashion Group, Enright helped build the three-show portfolio to 27 events by the time Jones accepted UBM’s offer.

Jones and Enright also teamed up in 2014 to collaborate with BJI Chairman and COO Mac Brighton, and Greg Topalian, Senior Vice President of ReedPop, in the launch of LeftField Media. LeftField was acquired by Urban Expositions last year.

NXT Events Media Group has a strong focus on the experiential success of meetings and exhibitions, which Enright said would guide the company’s growth “either through acquisition, partnership or launches.”

“This is a transformative time in the trade show industry and we look to embrace and utilize the evolution of this dynamic Industry,” said Enright. “With the strong leadership of Britton Jones, our continued belief in the customer-first approach, and a culture that welcomes creativity and rapid change, I look forward to building out the NXT Events Media Group portfolio.” Enright said.
