Seafood Expo Asia Leveraging Business Matchmaking Program, Strategic Location and More to Drive Success

ANDREW WARRICK, SENIOR DIGITAL EDITOR
Conference Panel 1

SINGAPORE — Diversified’s Seafood Expo Asia will take place Sept. 10-12 at the Sands Expo and Convention Centre.

Trade Show Executive (TSE) spoke with Wynter Courmont, Vice President, Seafood, at Diversified, about its tailored business matchmaking program and more features.

ANDREW: How are your strategies for organizing this event different when compared to the other events in Diversified’s seafood portfolio?

WYNTER: Seafood Expo Asia offers a very tailored approach in connecting seafood suppliers from around the world with buyers across Asia. Unique to the event is its business matchmaking program which allows exhibitors to connect with buyers before the event and pre-schedule onsite meetings to maximize their business goals and drive traffic to their stand.

The business matchmaking feature is a huge asset to exhibitors looking to expand their business in the Asian region and for high-volume buyers of seafood to be able to find the right suppliers to meet their consumer demand.

ANDREW: What’s new at Seafood Expo Asia 2025?

WYNTER: The event’s mobile app has a built-in platform to facilitate the business matchmaking program which allows participating exhibitors and buyers the flexibility to check their appointments on the go and not miss out on valuable meetings.

It was important at this year’s event to have everything in one place to make it convenient and easy for participating companies. The mobile app allows attendees to view the list of exhibiting companies, explore the event’s floor plan, browse innovative products and access a schedule of conference sessions, making it easier to plan their visit and navigate the event.

ANDREW: What makes Singapore the right destination for this show?

Wynter Courmont, Vice President, Seafood, at Diversified

WYNTER: Singapore is a leading global business hub with an open and trade-driven economy. The country is strategically located where the major east and west shipping lanes converge, making it a great location for a trade event focused on seafood, one of the most highly traded food commodities in the world.

Being in such a strategic location allows exhibiting seafood companies and buyers in the Asian region with a unique opportunity to converge in one place, reach their business goals and establish new partnerships in the Asian marketplace. The event continues to be an effective business trade platform for the seafood community throughout Asia.

ANDREW: More broadly, what makes Singapore great for trade shows?

WYNTER: Singapore is conveniently located for billions of travelers in the region making it a strategic location for trade shows targeting the Asian market.

The location provides easy access to markets in Thailand, Vietnam, Cambodia, Malaysia, Indonesia, the Philippines and Myanmar, with very few countries requiring visas to enter and with a short visa processing time.

ANDREW: Has global economic instability impacted this event and how are you positioning it for continued success?

WYNTER: The value of Seafood Expo Asia is in bringing the seafood industry together to discuss the various challenges impacting their businesses and to find practical solutions and forge new partnerships that benefit individual businesses and the industry at large.

The expo provides that platform for information exchange and brings in top experts to speak to the industry.

The keynote address will provide an economic update and explore the uncertainties facing the global economic landscape due to complex and interrelated geo-political, trade and financial factors.

ANDREW: What excites you about this show’s conference program?

WYNTER: This year’s keynote address is a very important and timely economic discussion tailored to the Asian seafood industry. The address, given by leading Asian economist Mr. Manu Bhaskaran, Partner of Centennial Group International and Founding Director and Chief Executive Officer of Centennial Asia Advisors, will provide key insights into global trends and their implications for regional growth, currencies and investment strategies.

The session will explore the uncertainties facing the global economic landscape due to complex and interrelated geo-political, trade and financial factors. Other key topics of the discussion will include the real impact of trade wars beyond tariffs, identifying resilient and adaptive economies in Asia and beyond, the shifting role of the U.S. dollar in global finance and the opportunities and challenges that will arise given the current landscape.
