CHICAGO — The Board of Directors of UFI, the Global Association of the Exhibition Industry, elected RX CEO Hugh Jones as the UFI President for the 2024-2025 period. Jones will officially become President of the exhibition industry association at the end of the 91st UFI Global Congress taking place November 2024.
“I am delighted and honored to be joining the UFI Presidential Trio team this November,” Jones said. “It’s a really exciting time for the exhibitions industry, with so much innovation in all corners of the world, and UFI has a front row seat to it all. I can’t wait to get started and to support the team as we make the magic happen.”
Jones joined RELX, the parent company of RX, in 2011 when it acquired Acuity Inc., where Jones served as CEO. Once acquired by RX, Jones was Global Managing Director within the Risk and Business Analytics Division until 2020 when he was tapped to lead RX.

Since taking the helm at RX, Jones has launched a number of large-scale initiatives including bringing on a Global Sustainability Director and a Global Director of Inclusion & Diversity, as well as launching a Global Race and Ethnicity Committee while pledging to give a significant amount of money to charities.
Overseeing iconic shows like the PGA Show, JCK and the National Hardware Show, Jones’ background in running data and software companies has led to RX using data to create and bring more value to the company’s clients.
There is a Presidential Trio in effect from November 2023 to November 2024, consisting of Geoff Dickinson, CEO of dmg events and President of UFI; Michael Duck, Executive Vice President, Commercial Development at Informa Markets and Outgoing President of UFI; and Jones. Together the three will work together to manage UFI and support and promote the industry globally.
