Zurich – Reed Exhibitions is selling its Swiss operations to Urs Ingold, Reed’s current president of the unit, who is launching a new company, Exhibit & More AG. The buyout deal gives Ingold a 60% share of Reed Messen (Schweiz) AG; another shareholder is Messe Schweiz AG, operator of the venues for the shows in Basel and Zurich.
Ingold will resign from Reed Messen and from the supervisory board of Reed Exhibitions Deutschland. He spent 17 years with Reed and became president of Reed Messen (Schweiz) AG at the age of 26.
Reed Messen (Schweiz) AG organizes four national trade shows in Switzerland: IFAS, a medical equipment event; PRODEX, which includes machine tools; SICHERHEIT, for the fire and security sector, and Orbit-iEX for business solutions.
Andrew Fowles, president of Reed’s Central & Eastern European operations, said the sale was made so that Reed could maintain a greater focus on other strategic growth markets.
