Stamford, CT – Reed Exhibitions and sister company Elsevier Health Sciences have announced the formation of Reed Medical Education, a targeted health and medical events group that will focus on continuing medical education in specialty medical fields and emerging medical and healthcare disciplines. The group’s events will range from large global congresses to topic-specific regional symposia. Oncology World Congress will be Reed Medical Education’s first event and will take place November 7–19, 2005, in Houston. The Congress’ Advisory Board includes leaders in oncology research, a strategy that will be employed for all of the group’s events.

“Our goal is to accelerate the adoption of best practices in all medical disciplines,” says Julie A. Brown, Reed Medical Education Vice President and head of the new initiative. Brown says Reed  will partner with research institutions, government agencies, leading health enterprises, advocacy groups and innovators to produce timely, unbiased events.

Reed Medical Education will draw on the worldwide publishing network of Elsevier Health Sciences and will extend Reed Exhibitions’ global strength in pre-market pharmaceutical events and conferences, from drug discovery and clinical trials through drug manufacturing.
