Norwalk, CT – Reed Exhibitions has acquired the Automated Manufacturing & Productivity Expositions (AM EXPO) from Technical Exhibitions and Conferences, Inc. (TEC). The regional events, which have been held in Greenville, SC; Worcester, MA; and Cincinnati, OH, focus on automated manufacturing, assembly systems and manufacturing information technology. “Exhibitors who are currently participating in our other industrial events have expressed strong interest in the growing Southeast region,” says Kel Marsden-Kish, Reed Industry Vice President.
The acquisition expands Reed’s portfolio of industrial shows such as its Assembly, National Manufacturing Week and Quality events. Reed’s sister organization, Reed Business Information, is expected to support to the AM EXPO events through its manufacturing publications.
Tony Smith, founder and President of TEC, will continue his involvement in the strategic direction of the AM EXPO events and will continue to develop the “Salute to Manufacturing” program and other show-related non-profit activities. . “Reed Exhibition’s understanding of the manufacturing industry and their related events and publication relationships will position them as a strong partner for the continued growth of the AM EXPO portfolio,” says Smith.
