SAN JOSE, Calif. — Reallusion Inc., which has decades of experience developing 3D character animation tools, recently launched iClone AI Assistant, a product that allows users to create AI-powered representatives for customer-facing interactions. Through the use of large language models, the characters created with iClone AI Assistant can have conversations with customers based on a combination of context and emotional cues.
For the trade show industry, this product will be an effective way for companies to serve their audiences with distinct avatars that are a reflection of their brand identity. For example, iClone AI Assistant may be used to create an avatar that can be deployed in a kiosk to answer questions from attendees on the show floor. Users can ensure that they’re providing quality customer service by programming the avatar to answer the questions attendees are likely to ask.

“At a trade show, when someone’s looking at the board, iClone AI Assistant can detect them in about two seconds,” said Enoc Burgos, Reallusion’s Director of Marketing. “This can trigger the avatar to say, ‘Hello, how are you? Welcome to the event. How can I help you?’ It can keep the conversation going until someone says goodbye. Then the avatar can say goodbye, end the conversation and wait for the next person who wants to interact.”

These types of interactions can similarly take place in an exhibitor’s booth, so attendees can get basic information about the company’s products and services when staff members are all busy speaking to other people. In addition, avatars that are created with iClone AI Assistant can be used as chatbots for websites and mobile devices, so companies never lose touch with their customers.
Customizing Animated Brand Identity
Just as the conversations an avatar makes with iClone AI Assistant can be customized based on users’ needs, the visuals can be created to represent their individual brands. Reallusion offers two options for this: a realistic human avatar or a stylized character that is a bit more playful. Whichever option customers prefer, they have the freedom to use their creation in any way they choose because Reallusion doesn’t assume ownership of the characters produced with iClone AI Assistant. Reallusion doesn’t rent avatars to users, but rather provides the tools they need to generate and deploy the characters, as well as flexible licensing options that allow them to get the most out of their avatars.

As a result, says Burgos, trade show professionals can get avatars that are unique for their brand, which will contribute to setting them apart from the competition.
“You have complete control of this character, and you’ll be offering something that’s unique — an avatar that is not just prerecorded animations, an avatar that’s not just regurgitating the same responses all the time,” he said. “It’s an avatar that’s interacting with you in your time, in your conversation, in your state of emotion. And this is definitely something that audiences can gravitate to at trade shows.”
