RacquetX To Launch During the Miami Open, Uniting Racquet Sports Industry Under One Roof

CHICAGO — Robyn Duda, Founder and Creative Director of Robyn Duda Creative LLC, and Marco Giberti, Founder and CEO of Vesuvio Ventures, partnered to create and launch RacquetX, a trade show uniting tennis, pickleball and padel sports professionals and enthusiasts at one show to try out new products and technologies, and exchange ideas. 

The idea behind RacquetX came from the racquet sports sector’s boom during and since the pandemic. According to the RacquetX team, participation in tennis has exploded by 33% since 2020, padel is growing fast with more than 25 million players around the world and pickleball’s popularity is booming with the number of players increasing by 59% over the past three years.

Given this boom in participation, founders Duda and Giberti identified an opportunity to bring the sector together to do business, learn more about the innovations within sports and connect with the larger racquet sports community. 

The team analyzed existing events covering the general sports arena and racquet sports in particular. They cross-examined data from events, brands, industry professionals and fans in order to identify which type of specific event activation would add value to all stakeholders.

“As racquet sports fans and event geeks, we were frustrated there was no one event that united all racquet sports,” Duda said. “Talking with industry leaders and brands, we decided a non-traditional approach to bring makers and players together would allow everyone the opportunity to learn, share, grow, connect and celebrate the power of racquet sports as an industry and a lifestyle.”

The RacquetX trade show will feature programming centered on trends, 2050 and the industry, with speakers covering topics of engagement, DEIB, technology, growth opportunities, player advocacy, foreign investments, sneaker culture and FOMO among others.

“Concept to creation is always exciting, but uniting an industry and facilitating connections that might never happen otherwise is pretty magical,” Duda said. “RacquetX is supported by more than a hundred years of event experience from the launching team and supported by industry investors with deep expertise in the racquet sports world. This combination of event and industry expertise is a great opportunity for building something new, fresh and different from any other event activation in the sports industry.”

RacquetX will take place at the Miami Beach Convention Center from March 24-26, 2024, during the middle weekend of the Miami Open. The location offers RacquetX proximity to an established base of racquet sports fans, and the show has a joint ticket sale with the Miami Open dropping in early November.
