New York, NY – Kirk Lewis, former publisher of Meetings & Conventions magazine, was named director of Questex Travel Group’s appointment-based events for meeting planners.
Lewis, who spent 15 years with Meetings & Conventions, will oversee Questex’s Global Meetings & Incentive Travel Exchange (GMITE) portfolio, which includes invitation-only gatherings for the meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) industry. The newly created position also has responsibility for the International Meetings Review online news platform.
During his tenure as publisher, Lewis oversaw M&C’s relaunch as well as the development of new digital products. Prior to that, he served as the northeast sales director for USA Today in New York, representing the financial and sports sectors. During that time, he was nominated for “Sale of The Year” for orchestrating a $4.2 million deal after six months with the company.
“Kirk will be a tremendous asset in directing events that drive measurable results for our attendees and further our commitment to travel event buyers and suppliers,” said John McMahon, executive vice president of Questex Travel Group.
