Dallas, TX – Industry veteran Galen Poss left his position as president of Hanley Wood Exhibitions on June 15 as did Executive Vice President Michael Green.
Frank Anton, CEO of parent company Hanley Wood, LLC, confirmed that the two executives would be replaced but offered no details on the departure of Poss and Green. Senior Vice President Rick McConnell was named acting president of the exhibition division.
Poss and Green left Miller Freeman together in 2000 to take command of Hanley Wood Exhibitions.
Poss has been a high profile executive in the trade show industry for decades. He is a past chairman of the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO) and former member of the board of directors for the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR).
Hanley Wood Exhibitions runs 17 trade shows for the construction industry, a sector that has been vulnerable to economic downturns. Three of its 2007 shows were listed on the 2008 TSE Gold 100 roster: World of Concrete (No. 13); Surfaces (No. 34); and International Pool & Spa Expo/Backyard Living Expo (No. 99).
