Reston, VA – Veteran trade show manager Ray Luca was named director of expositions for PMMI, The Association for Packaging and Processing Technologies.
Luca will oversee the team responsible for the management and operations of PMMI’s events portfolio, most notably PACK EXPO International and Pharma Expo, a perennial member of the Trade Show Executive Gold 100 that this Fall grew to more than 1.2 million net square feet of exhibit space. Luca has been group vice president of exhibits of J. Spargo & Associates and vice president of NaylorCMG. He joined Convention Management Group in the 1990s and helped lead the company through its acquisition by Naylor in 2007.
“Ray has been working in trade shows for more than 20 years, managing shows such as the Worldwide Food Expo, The FMI Show and InterBev,” said Jim Pittas, senior vice president, trade shows, for PMMI. “He knows the ins and outs of the industries the PACK EXPO shows serve, and his range of experience makes him able to provide fresh insight.”
Luca replaced A.J. Janosko, who died suddenly in June.
