PCMA’s Convening EMEA Coming to Lausanne, Switzerland, in October CHICAGO — The Professional Convention Management Association (PCMA) has opened registration for Convening EMEA, to be held October 17–19 against the backdrop of Lake Geneva and the Alps at the SwissTech Convention Center in Lausanne, Switzerland.

The event, which will be omnichannel for the first time, is the latest iteration of the event, which was initially launched in 2017 as the European Influencer Summit as an invite-only meeting. In 2019, PCMA opened attendance to all business event professionals, drawing 300 people to Barcelona. This year’s event is designed to broaden the reach further by making it an omnichannel event for event professionals from the Middle East, Africa and Europe.

“Simple expressions of our humanity — a handshake, a hug, a roundtable discussion — are what bring our purpose to life,” Sherrif Karamat, CAE, PCMA President and CEO, said. “For more than 15 months, we could not be together in person for any of these. Connecting people with purpose to ideas and opportunities — the business of human connections — is where we excel. While it’s never been needed more, it’s never been more complex. We have a profound responsibility to keep our audience safe, while providing the knowledge-sharing and community engagement they want and deserve.”

Jaimé Bennett, PCMA’s business director for EMEA, added, “At a time when connection is not only key, but essential for post-pandemic success in our industry, Convening EMEA will be a catalyst for how the industry recovers in the region. Additionally, we felt holding this revitalized event in the Olympic capital of Lausanne would not only enhance the program but also assist us in creating a truly immersive experience for attendees.” The event will be sponsored by Switzerland Tourism, the International Olympic Committee and Lausanne Tourism, with support from Lausanne Montreux Congress members.

Scholarships from the PCMA Foundation and group hosted buyer opportunities are available to qualified attendees. To learn more or register the event, visit pcma.org/convening-emea/.
