Dallas, TX – Patricia Farias-Barlow has been named the 2012 “Legend of the Industry” by the International Association of Exhibitions and Events (IAEE) Krakoff Institute. The award will be presented at the May 30-June 1 IAEE Mid-Year Meeting. Each year, IAEE selects a “Legend of the Industry” whose contributions, innovation and leadership have been truly unique and remarkable. An informal setting then allows each participant face-to-face interaction with the industry leader.
“Being selected as this year’s ‘Legend of the Industry’ is an enormous honor, and I am extremely excited to be part of this essential program that guides our industry’s promising leaders,” said Farias Barlow. “Having served as the IAEE Chairman of the Board of Directors in 2000 and knowing the emphasis the association puts on developing leaders, I am thrilled to have this opportunity to engage with tomorrow’s leaders, collaborate and collectively learn about their outlook and thoughts for the future.”
Barlow was chairman of the IAEE board of directors in 2000 and has spent most of her career in Mexico in a variety of leadership positions. She is currently CEO of the Puerto Vallarta International Convention Center and president and CEO of Farias Global Expos. She is also a former president of Reed Exhibition Companies for Mexico and the founding president of AMPROFEC, the Mexican Association of Trade Show Managers.
