Rochester, MN – Exhibitor magazine has been covering the event industry within the pages of its monthly magazine during the past year, but starting next month, Lee Knight, Founder & CEO, plans to spin it off into a separate quarterly publication called Corporate EVENT magazine. And the new magazine is just the beginning. Knight also plans to launch a newsletter and conferences.
The magazine will be unveiled at the Exhibitor Show, March 13-17 at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center in Las Vegas. “This segment of the industry has undergone remarkable growth over the past year and is underserved,” says Knight. While some trade shows have taken a beating in the past few years, corporate events and company-owned shows have enjoyed banner growth. From automotive to information technology events, 2004 has seen this emerging marketing format become a significant and highly visible part of the marketing mix, Knight says.
The magazine is directed to senior marketing executives, corporate event managers and B2B event producers who organize events such as user conferences, private trade shows, dealer/distributor events, product launches, media events, VIP summits, and customer community events. The editorial tone will be similar to Exhibitor magazine — hard data, analysis, best practices and commentary — but Corporate EVENT magazine will focus on companies that are using proprietary events to support CEO goals and initiatives.
“Today, companies want and need stronger ROI from their event programs. Often, this is achieved by owning the branding and the messaging with their own platform,” says Bill Sell, Managing Partner with Advisor Communications, who is assisting in the launch efforts. “Corporate events combine the face-to-face aspect of a trade show with the best of immersion marketing – your name, your brand and your executives all around the customer. The time is right for a targeted publication that brings timely information to marketing directors, event managers and event producers.”
The new magazine will be available only by paid subscription; the cost for four quarterly issues and unlimited online access is $28.
