New Drone Event Hovers on Horizon for 2017

Houston — The drone sector of the economy appears to be growing faster than you can say “I spy.” And it’s generating new trade shows along the way. Most recently, that includes a new Energy Drone Coalition-sponsored EDC Summit set for June in Houston that is being organized through Houston-based B2B specialists Stone Fort Group.

This event will focus on the oil, gas, power, mining and chemical industry sectors, providing an opportunity for collaboration within this sector to learn about advances in drone/unmanned vehicle (UAV) technology. This program, developed by a nine-member advisory board, has a goal of creating and facilitating industry partnerships for the energy industry.

The program will include the usual assortment of large and small educational sessions as well as case studies from the oil and gas, chemical, mining and power industries. It also will include technology and service exhibits and multiple networking opportunities.

The conference is being organized by Stone Fort Group partner Sean Guerre, a trade show industry veteran who has held leadership positions with SISO, IAEE and the CEIR Predict events.

“We are pleased to launch this Summit for the emerging drone and UAV community that is specifically working in the energy industries,” Guerre said in announcing the event.

The outlook for a sector-specific event in the UAV market is promising. The first Drone World Expo was launched in fall 2015 by JD Events to address the needs of those embracing every aspect of this broad industry. Last fall, the second edition of that expo drew 2,711 people and 100 exhibitors to San Jose—up roughly 25% in both categories from the first year.

The Energy Drone Coalition’s Summit is set for June 20-21 at the Royal Sonesta in Houston. Full program information is available at www.energydronecoalition.com
