NaylorCMG Chosen to Manage Expected Sales Boom for Triennial Plastics Show

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

Washington, DC – SPI: The Plastics Industry Trade Association retained NaylorCMG to handle exhibit sales for NPE2012, the sprawling plastics manufacturing show scheduled April 2-5, 2012 at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando.  NaylorCMG, a division of Naylor LLC, will handle booth sales, sponsorships and related services for the show, which ranked third on the Trade Show Executive Gold 100 roster of largest trade show in the U.S.  The overall management of the event will remain with SPI staff.

“SPI and the NPE2012 Sales and Marketing Committee chose NaylorCMG to provide exhibit sales because of their depth of experience and staff, and their reputation for providing a high level of customer service,” said Gene Sanders, senior vice president of trade shows for SPI. “Their experience with equipment shows and the intricacies they involve will be valuable for the machinery exhibitors at NPE2012.”

NaylorCMG currently manages 15 association trade shows. “We are honored to partner with SPI on NPE2012,” said Alex DeBarr, president and CEO of Naylor, LLC. “NPE is one of the great event franchises in the world, and a vital force in the global plastics marketplace.” Sanders added that some NPE2012 exhibitors were planning to bring more machinery to Orlando than they had displayed in Chicago in 2009 under the burdensome work rules that since have changed.

The SPI Executive Committee announced in November 2009 that it was moving its triennial show from its long-time home at McCormick Place to Orlando in order to realize projected savings of up to $20 million, primarily through lower labor costs. The departure of the Plastics show helped spur a series of changes to union work rules and services at McCormick Place designed to improve Chicago’s competitiveness (See the TSE Vault, May 12, 2010).
