Naylor Enters Event Management with CMG Acquisition

TSE STAFF

Gainesville, FL – Convention Management Group has been acquired by Naylor, LLC with CMG President Mike Muldoon joining the new ownership as executive vice president of Naylor’s Convention Management Group.

The acquisition that was agreed to earlier this month gives Florida-based Naylor a physical presence in the key Washington association market and adds a turnkey events management component to Naylor’s line of customized print and online media services for association clients.

“By adding CMG’s event management services, Naylor is now able to offer our association partners completely integrated media solutions in print, online and in person,” said Naylor President and CEO Alex DeBarr.

CMG’s management portfolio of eight events includes the American Meat Institute International Meat, Poultry and Seafood Expo and the International Dairy Foods Association Food, Dairy and Beverage Show, the American Beverage Association InterBev event, the United Motorcoach Association Motorcoach Expo, and other events in the agriculture and construction sectors.

Muldoon said Naylor’s sales prowess and relationships with Washington-area associations made the acquisition a good move for CMG as it expands its events-management business.

“We are already exploring opportunities to provide our event management services to any of Naylor’s current or future association partners who need it,” Muldoon said.

Terms of the sale were not announced. The Jordan,  Edmiston Group, Inc. represented CMG in the negotiations. JEGI  also represented Naylor in its 2005 sale to Clarity Partners and ZelnickMedia.

CMG was founded in 1990. The firm’s 15 employees will remain in their current offices in the Washington suburb of Fairfax, VA.
