Nationwide Expos Acquires Three Home Shows from RJ Promotions

DENVER — Nationwide Expos expanded its portfolio of home and garden shows into Iowa and Texas by acquiring three established events from RJ Promotions in January.

Nationwide Expos picked up the popular Iowa Home Show and the Iowa Flower, Lawn & Garden Show — both will mark their 20th anniversaries this winter in Des Moines — in addition to the El Paso Spring Home Show & Pet Expo, which takes place in January at the El Paso Convention Center.

“Nationwide Expos is excited to take over where RJ Promotions left off with some new and innovative features to draw some great foot traffic in these markets,” said Jon Lewis, President of Nationwide Expos.

The acquisition expands Nationwide’s lineup to 60 events in the United States. No immediate changes to the Des Moines and El Paso events were announced; however, Lewis and his team, based in Denver, will likely turn first to their key exhibitors to help expand their current scope.

“These long-running consumer shows are the largest home and outdoor events in the regions that they serve,” said Nick Curci, President of Corporate Solutions, which acted as adviser to RJ Promotions in the negotiations. “Nationwide Expos can leverage their existing exhibitor relationships to expand these and their other regional home shows throughout the western portion of the country.”

The sale left RJ Promotions with eight consumer shows held in Colorado and its home state of Missouri. “I am excited for Nationwide Expos to take these shows to a new level,” company President Kevin Hummer said. “Jon Lewis is an amazing show producer and I’m sure that he will have significant success with these events going forward.”
