Monica Lee-Muller Named Managing Director of HKCEC

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

Hong Kong, China – Monica Lee-Muller has been named managing director of the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (HKCEC) management and operating company effective July 1, and Cliff Wallace will focus more of his attention on mainland China.

Lee-Muller was deputy managing director of Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre (Management) Ltd. (HML) since 2007 and was previously the director of business development for the company. HML oversees the administration, marketing, booking and operations at the HKCEC, one of the largest and busiest convention centers in Asia.

Lee-Muller moves into a position held for 17 years by Wallace, who will retain his position of chairman of NWS Holding, Ltd., but will concentrate on developing the NWS venue-management business in Zhengzhou and Shenyang. “Monica has been a tower of strength first as our director of business development and then as HML’s deputy for the last five years,” Wallace said. “The time is right for her now to assume the managing director role.”

Lee-Muller has been with the HKCEC for 18 years and is a member of the board of directors of UFI, The Global Association of the Exhibition Industry.
