Leading at Mach 2; Fighter Pilot Anthony Bourke to Keynote F50

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

CHICAGO – Leading at breakneck speed is not for the faint for heart. Fastest 50 honorees will hear about how to lead at Mach 2 with military precision from author and management consultant Anthony “AB” Bourke’s keynote address at this year’s Trade Show Executive Fastest 50 Awards & Summit in Atlantic City.

Bourke is a retired U.S. Air Force fighter pilot and career officer who knows a thing or two about organizational efficiency and keeping squads of bright and talented people focused, engaged and above all, working as a team on complex operations at a high rate of speed when the pressure is on. His ideas on management style and techniques will get the June 18-20 Fastest 50 off to a high-flying start.

“Major Anthony Bourke takes a high-altitude look every day at the way companies are run on a day-to-day basis,” said TSE Publisher and Editor Gabrielle Weiss. “He has some unique and valuable experience that will give show managers of America’s fastest growing shows some useful ideas for keeping their teams on track and highly functioning.”

Since logging more than 2,700 hours in the air, Bourke has become an ace in the civilian world of management consulting. He is a co-founder and former CEO of Afterburner, Inc., and also the current CEO of Mach 2 Consulting. He has trained dozens of business executives around the world and will soon be releasing his new book, “The Art of the Debrief.”

A “debrief” might not be a familiar concept for everyone in the business world, but it is standard operating procedure in the armed forces where following the completion of a mission puts rank aside to discuss what worked and what needs work. Conducting an effective debrief is a skill that can and must be mastered by military officers. It is also an eye-opening exercise that will pay off for show organizers by sidestepping indecision and minutia while also eliminating the “paralysis by analysis” that can bog down a show team at the worst possible time.

The TSE Fastest 50 annually salutes the exhibitions that set the pace for growth during the previous year. Harrah’s Resort Atlantic City will be the venue for this year’s event, which will be attended by show organizers behind the events that produced the highest growth rates in 2018 for exhibit space, number of exhibiting companies, and attendance. Harrah’s, TSE and the Fastest 50’s sponsors will be rolling out both the red carpet for a productive week of education, networking and socializing on the sunny Jersey shore.

The agenda for the educational sessions and social activities is being finalized and will be announced soon. Meanwhile, registration and housing information for the Fastest 50 Awards & Summit is available at www.tsefastest50.com.
