Trumbull, CT – JD Events will acquire the trade show assets of NetWorld Alliance in a deal that the two companies term a strategic agreement which will strengthen their mutual position in the kiosk and self-service industry. There was no broker involved in the transaction and the principals did not disclose the amount of cash or other terms behind the acquisition.
At the conclusion of NetWorld Alliance’s Self-Service and KioskShow September 29th in San Antonio, JD Events will produce and manage all trade shows and NetWorld Alliance will continue to manage all media properties, online industry news stories and the related industry associations.
“Prior to this year, there were two annual KioskCom events and two annual NWA events,” said Joel Davis, president and CEO of JD Events. “Going forward, there will be two combined events in the U.S. instead of one large and three small annual events.”
Under the new arrangement, JD Events will produce two KioskCom Self Service Expo events next year: April 25-27 in Las Vegas and October 10-11 in New York. A new European event, KioskCom Europe, will be launched Nov. 8-9 in conjunction with European licensing partner IMP Events.
NetWorld will handle the new company’s media properties, including the KioskCom Report newsletter currently published by JD Events. NetWorld CEO Dick Goode said that the agreement would streamline and clarify their respective trade show and publishing markets for the self-service industry.
Self-service technology was introduced at banks, retailers and airports for convenience but now is part of a sophisticated business strategy for many organizations. The Kiosk shows draw attendees from a wide range of industries including retail, restaurant, travel and tourism, transportation, banking and finance, gaming and entertainment, healthcare, government, etc.
