Trumbull, CT – JD Events acquired School Building Expo from Eaton Hall Exhibitions in late July, adding the event to a portfolio that includes a similar show in the healthcare sector.
Terms of the deal, which was finalized July 24, were not announced. JD Events will have full management responsibility for the show that will be held June 1-3, 2009 at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center in Pittsburgh, PA.
Joel Davis, president and CEO of JD Events, said School Building Expo was in the same area of expertise his company had developed running the annual Healthcare Facilities Symposium & Expo. Both shows revolve around the design, construction and renovation of buildings such as hospitals, clinics and schools.
“We are excited to add School Building Expo to our family of shows and are especially pleased to utilize our expertise to organize the two leading events…in two of the largest market sectors,” Davis said. “JD Events expects to realize tremendous synergies that will benefit both events greatly.”
Eaton Hall Exhibitions President Scott Goldman said his company parted with the show as part of a portfolio shift toward hosted buyer events.
