ITE Strikes Partnership with Learnit Conference

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

LONDON – ITE Group plc, the new owners of the education-technology trade show Bett, formed an attendee-sharing partnership with the Learnit conference, which will run in London during the same week as Bett next year.

The agreement means that some of the 35,000 or so attendees expected for Bett at Excell Centre, will also be able to shuttle to the QEII Centre in nearby Westminster to take in the sessions at Learnit. “Bett is the must-attend show for EdTech… Learnit is where the global learning ecosystem goes for a conversation about the current state and future of learning,” said Rachel Brodie, Portfolio Director of Bett. “We are excited to welcome Learnit to London in the same week as Bett.”

Bett is a trade exhibition and conference for education technology. ITE acquired the show this summer as part of a £300 million acquisition of Ascential Events Limited, which officially closed this September. At the time, ITE officials said they planned significant investments to bolster the main Bett show as well as its branded events around the world. New features at the Jan. 23-26 Bett in London include a new layout of the show floor and the EdTech leader and global visitor programs for key attendees.

Learnit launched in Switzerland earlier this year as a conference for educators, government officials, and technology providers. ITE said around 1,000 attendees were expected for the 2019 conference, which runs Jan. 23-25.

The Bett acquisition was part of a busy year for ITE. The company also sold off portfolios in Russia and Malaysia as part of its Transformation And Growth (TAG) strategy to refocus on core events.
