DALLAS — The International Association of Exhibitions & Events (IAEE)® announced Event Tech Demo Days, a free virtual event series that will bring together organizers, technology providers and industry professionals to highlight innovative solutions.
The series is open to IAEE® organizer members and non-members, and Swapcard is its official platform. Swapcard offers the ability to ask questions, provide feedback and have discussions in real time during presentations, combining interactive features with backstage organization.
“The concept behind Event Tech Demo Days was developed from the rapid and continuous progression in technology,” Lisa Buchanan, IAEE’s® Senior Vice President of Operations, said. “As someone who appreciates the ability to experience different tech advancements regularly, I recognized the significance of providing a dedicated setting for our vendors and members to connect beyond our exhibition floor at Expo! Expo! IAEE’s® Annual Meeting & Exhibition. This initiative was envisioned to offer a tailored platform for our members to explore and discover the latest technological innovations our vendors have to offer.”
Buchanan added that having the demonstrations in a single day makes it easier for professionals to see a large number of technologies more efficiently.
“This setup not only simplifies scheduling but also enhances the ability to directly compare various platforms side by side, making it easier to assess their features and benefits in a consolidated, comprehensive format,” Buchanan explained. “This efficiency is invaluable for making informed decisions swiftly and effectively.”

Examining Floorplan Planning Systems
The first Event Tech Demo Day will take place April 29, 2025, and explore floorplan planning systems, including updates from ShowCycle, Personify® A2Z Events, ExpoGenie, eShow, Map Your Show and EXPOCAD®.
“This theme is highly relevant for members and the industry, as effective floor plan management is crucial for the success of any event, influencing everything from attendee flow to exhibitor satisfaction and overall event aesthetics,” Buchanan explained. “Attendees will gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge event planning technologies, guided by industry leaders and tech developers. The event provides a unique opportunity to compare multiple solutions side by side, engage directly with vendors for personalized insights and potential partnerships, and exchange experiences with peers, fostering a collaborative community of practice.
“In organizing this day, the aim is to create a dynamic environment that promotes learning, innovation and collaboration, specifically tailored to enhance the effectiveness and creativity of event space design.”
