SAN FRANCISCO – Global event technology company Hubilo Technologies Inc., recently acquired fielddrive, a Belgian-based leading event technology company, boosting Hubilo’s reach in the industry. With the acquisition, Hubilo strengthens its ability to deliver in-person event experiences globally and increases its access to resources, data and market insight.

“The two companies combined really pools our products, expertise and talent, ensuring that we can deliver digital, hybrid and in-person events anywhere in the world,” Vaibhav Jain, Founder and CEO of Hubilo, said. “This acquisition cements Hubilo as the leading event tech player.”

The strategic acquisition of fielddrive, which works with any data source or registration platform and can be deployed in any location, venue and event type, also aligns with Hubilo’s focus on sustainability. According to Jain, a Hubilo survey of event professionals found 61% said they take environmental impact into consideration while attending an event.

“Hubilo’s acquisition of fielddrive opens a new world of events, making them more sustainable by lessening the environmental impact, while still offering the relationship building opportunity that in-person events provide,” Jain said.

Jain continued, “Hubilo is intensely interested in making events more enjoyable, and fielddrive is helping power that. Through the AI and facial recognition features fielddrive offers, not only do we reduce the typical waste associated with events, but we also make events frictionless and easier to navigate. Additionally, we will allow customers to reach a wider audience through hybrid and virtual options that make events more accessible to everyone from those with a medical disability to parents who have family obligations or individuals who simply have financial constraints. We are democratizing opportunity and advancement.”

Jain also stated fielddrive will run as an independent entity and will continue to be platform agnostic.

“It is amazing to see the business further expand and build on its solid foundation. With additional resources we will be able to grow our solution set across more geographies with new market-leading features,” Danny Stevens, Founder and CEO of fielddrive, stated. “The acquisition means that we can continue to innovate further in this space to provide our customers with unbeatable visitor experiences. We are all excited about the future with fielddrive now as a part of Hubilo.”

Established five years ago, Hubilo raised more than $150 million from leading venture capital firms, including Lightspeed Venture Partners, Alkeon Capital and Balderton Capital, and has since delivered virtual and hybrid event experiences in more than 185 countries for some 2 million attendees.

Hubilo is also planning to grow within the in-person space. The new General Manager of Hublio Onsite, Sophie Ahmed, will lead fielddrive for Hubilo. “Having led large in-person events for over two decades, I can see why fielddrive is so attractive to event organizers: from managing visitor queues, facial recognition for onsite check-in, sustainable badging, lead retrieval and analytics, new monetization opportunities and an expert customer experience team,” Ahmed said. “This is a fantastic acquisition for Hubilo, and we have lots of exciting things planned on our roadmap as we push the boundaries in creating incredible event journeys for organizers and their attendees, exhibitors and sponsors.”
