DUBAI, United Arab Emirates (UAE) — The Gulf Bar Show (GBS), which bills itself as the first and only dedicated bar and beverage trade show in the MENA region, expects to double in size for its second edition, which will take place Nov. 30-Dec. 1, 2026, at the Madinat Jumeirah Conference & Events Centre.
The show is doubling its exhibition space to more than 86,000 square feet, welcoming more than 175 exhibitors and expecting more than 3,000 visitors from MENA, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
“The core ambition remains unchanged from day one: to build a credible, long-term platform for the beverage community in the Middle East,” Hugo Goncalves, GBS Co-Founder, said. “What has evolved is the scale and structural maturity of that ambition.”
Data-Driven Growth

According to Sebouh Tato, GBS Co-Founder, the decision to double in size was data-driven rather than purely aspirational.
“We saw strong rebook intent, increased international interest and a clear imbalance between supply and demand for floor space,” Tato said. “The expansion in 2026 allows us to accommodate growth responsibly, preserve the quality of the visitor experience and ensure that exhibitor ROI remains strong. It is an evolution aligned with demand.”
The organizers are not just expanding the event’s square footage, but are enhancing curation as well.
GBS is hosting brand-led events and strategic partner activations, transforming participation into deeper market engagement. Major brands are using the event as a regional touchpoint for launches, meetings and community-building, elevating the overall ecosystem around the exhibition.
The show’s Dubai-wide program extends it into the city through curated guest shifts and partner activations.
“While guest shifts were part of the inaugural edition, in 2026, they are more strategically integrated into the overall event calendar, reinforcing the show’s commercial and cultural footprint,” Goncalves explained. “The objective is to transform the show from a two-day exhibition into a multi-day industry moment that activates venues, brands and professionals across the city.”

Tato added that this expansion strengthens brand equity and positions GBS as a regional platform rather than a single-location exhibition.
“For Dubai, it drives inbound trade visitors, reinforces the city’s status as a hospitality capital and stimulates cross-sector activity across hotels, restaurants and nightlife venues,” Tato said. “Trade events that successfully combine exhibition, education and city activation generate longer dwell times and deeper engagement. That ecosystem effect benefits both organizers and host destinations.”
Also, GBS is doubling down on education, hosting more than 24 seminars, masterclasses and workshops, along with more than 20 curated tastings across two tasting bars.
Strategic Alignment

Another significant development for the show this year is its strategic alignment across the global beverage industry. The event is building formal partnerships with internationally recognized platforms such as Tales of the Cocktail, reinforcing its credibility within the global bar calendar and creating stronger bridges between MENA and established markets.
“What has been particularly encouraging is how quickly the industry has rallied around GBS,” Goncalves said. “In a relatively short period, it has become a reference point for entry into the UAE and broader MENA market. Companies clearly recognize both the commercial potential of the region and the strategic importance of Dubai as one of the most visited cities in the world, with a uniquely international hospitality ecosystem. The momentum is organic, commercially driven and reflective of a market that is maturing at speed.”
Learning From Year One
The show’s inaugural edition provided valuable operational insights.
“Demand exceeded projections in certain categories, and exhibitor onboarding timelines were tighter than ideal,” Tato said. “We have responded by expanding space, refining registration deadlines, formalizing logistics procedures and enhancing exhibitor communication workflows. The 2026 edition reflects a more structured operational backbone. Growth is being managed carefully to protect brand equity and ensure consistent delivery.”
“GBS was founded with a long-term vision: to create the definitive bar and beverage trade platform for MENA,” Goncalves added. “Our focus is steady, sustainable growth built on commercial relevance, educational depth and international reach. 2026 is not simply a larger edition; it is a more structured and scalable one. We are committed to building a platform that can serve the region for decades, while continuously raising standards and delivering measurable value to our exhibitors, partners and attendees.”
