Los Angeles, CA – Comexposium Group has acquired Mobile Media, LLC, the Los Angeles organizer of the Mobile Media Summit conference portfolio.
Mobile Motion has carved out a high profile in the mobile media world. Its flagship event is the Mobile Media Summit @ Mobile World Congress, which takes place at the huge Mobile World Congress show in Spain. Mobile Media Summits are also held in Los Angeles, Chicago, London and New York. The company also organizes Mobile Minds@Art Basel in Miami and Mobile Mafia at the Cannes International Festival of Creativity in France.
Comexposium cited the projected 45% surge in mobile industry revenues between 2013 and 2020 as the strategic reason for the acquisition. “This rapidly growing industry is integral to the group’s international development strategy and represents a portfolio of leading events that will work in synergy with our existing ones,” said Renaud Hamaide, managing director of Paris-based Comexposium, which organizes 114 public and professional events worldwide in 17 industry sectors. The company’s roster of high-tech conferences, however, is limited to five events dealing mainly with e-commerce.
Comexposium will fold the company and its eight events into its existing portfolio and position it for further expansion worldwide.
Paran Johar, founder and CEO of Mobile Motion, will remain in his current position with the firm and assist with the expansion of the brand. “I am incredibly excited to expand our Mobile Media Summit conferences around the world,” he said. “Our events have become critical for brands, agencies and media companies that want to stay ahead of the curve.”
Terms of the deal were not announced. The Jordan, Edmiston Group, Inc., represented Mobile Media in the negotiations.
