Dallas – Freeman Decorating completed the acquisition of Independent Electric on May 27, thereby adding a full-service electrical contractor under the umbrella of The Freeman Companies. On January 1, 2005, the firm will be christened Freeman Electrical Services and will become part of Freeman’s overall show services offerings in Nevada and California.
Freeman currently has 28 offices in the U.S. and Canada, and provides general service contracting, I&D, audio- visual services, exhibit design & production, custom carpet & furniture, and other services.
Independent Electric is a full-service electrical and utilities company that services exhibitions and events in the Las Vegas area. Sam Hornbeck, formerly President of Independent Electric, becomes Vice President, Electrical Services, and all other full-time employees will join Freeman.
Edlen Electric has an existing contract with Freeman to service Freeman events until December 31. The two firms are exploring options to determine Edlen’s future role with The Freeman Companies.
