Plano, TX – Roy Benear, former head of sales and business development for the International Association of Venue Managers (IAVM), joined the housing and registration firm Wyndham Jade in a similar capacity.
Benear said he “looked forward to rolling up my sleeves” as the executive vice president of sales and business development for Wyndham Jade. His new position gives him oversight over Wyndham Jade’s entire sales force and its client relations.
“We are excited to have Roy join our organization,” said CEO Sue Trizila. “His CVB, hotel, trade show and special-event industry experience, coupled with his strength as a sales and marketing leader, make him a key addition to the Wyndham Jade executive team.”
Benear was credited with guiding a restructuring of the sales and marketing teams at IAVM. Before joining the association of convention center managers, Benear spent six years as a senior vice president with the Austin Convention and Visitors Bureau as well as prior stops with Hargrove, Global Experience Specialists (GES) and Hilton Hotels.
