Expo! Expo! Panel Focuses on Shades of Green

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

Anaheim, Calif.—One of the authors of the annual Green Venue Report, which spotlights the state of sustainability at convention centers worldwide, will take part in a discussion of this dynamic topic during a key session at next month’s Expo! Expo!

Amanda Simons, Sustainable Events Program Manager for Greenview Advisors and a co-author of The Green Venue Report, will appear at Expo! Expo! around the scheduled release of the third annual Green Venue Report.

Simons will take part in the December 8 session “From Cleaning Contractor to Venue Selection, Everything You Need to Know about Implementing Sustainable Practices at Your Show!” The panel, moderated by Trade Show Executive Managing Editor Gabrielle Weiss, also includes Jeff Chase, Vice President, Sustainability, for Freeman, and Carmen Harley, Project Manager – National Account Management for Global Experience Specialists.

The Green Venue Report, which launched in 2014, provides a comprehensive look at the steps in place to lighten the environmental impacts of trade shows and other events held at exhibition centers around the world. This year’s report is based on surveys of 44 venues in 11 countries and 4 continents, including major centers in the U.S., Asia and Europe. The responses were finalized in August and the final publication released on November 16 on the Green Venue Report website; www.greenvenuereport.com.

The session is one of a dozen events scheduled in the Strategy track at the International Association of Expositions & Events (IAEE) Expo! Expo! taking place December 6-8 at the Anaheim Convention Center.
