CHICAGO — Trade Show Executive’s (TSE) Gold 100 Awards & Summit is just around the corner, and the Education Summit programming is packed with informative, entertaining and relevant content and speakers to provide industry leaders with the knowledge and inspiration to dive trade shows forward.

Economic Update

Once again, renowned economist Dr. Peter Rupert will give attendees a look at the current economic landscape, including trends, market dynamics and their impacts on the trade show industry’s performance. Dr. Rupert will help industry leaders to better understand the key indicators and growth opportunities present in the economy, as well as the potential challenges that could impact trade shows in the last portion of 2024 and beyond.

Impactful Panels

Keeping a finger on the pulse of the industry, TSE has organized a panel focused on understanding and navigating the trade show industry’s M&A landscape. Featuring Eric Lisman, Senior Development Advisor at Informa, Kathleen Thomas, Managing Director at JEGI CLARITY, and Chris Brown, Principal of Level Up Event Strategies, LLC, this panel of experts will share approaches to investments and partnerships, and their perspectives on navigating the ever-evolving M&A environment.

Attendees of the Gold 100 Awards & Summit will also get a sneak peek at the October 2024 Power Lunch feature with Issa Jouaneh, President, Connections at Emerald, during his live Power Lunch Interview with Beth Cowperthwaite, Vice President of Communications at Emerald. The two will discuss how Emerald is expanding connections that drive new business opportunities, product discovery and relationships, while giving a deep dive into the vision, strategy and culture that is helping to drive success at the organization.

In an exciting addition to the TSE Gold 100 Education Summit programming, some of this year’s Women to Watch will be sharing their insights into what’s next for the trade show industry, as they keep their eyes to the future and the trends they’re observing in the forefront as they make decisions for their shows and brands. Panelists will be announced after the Women to Watch class of 2024 is revealed on July 29.

Case Studies

TSE also has case studies lined up for the program aimed at giving organizers an intimate look at how some leaders are catapulting their shows to success.

Korbi Carrison, Event Vice President of G2E at RX, will talk to Gold 100 attendees about how the unique event, which is co-owned by RX and the American Gaming Association, is continuing to deliver on growth through new and innovative strategies for attendees and exhibitors alike. She will also give insights on how the show is seeing increases that exceed pre-pandemic levels on an international scale.

In a session titled Toy Fair: Reigniting the Magic of the Global Toy Industry Showcase, Kimberly Carcone, Executive Vice President of Global Market Events at the Toy Association, will share how the show attracted record numbers of first timers for attendees and exhibitors, helping to push Toy Fair from surviving to thriving.

The team behind the return of NPE will also share how content and creativity fueled the show’s ultimate comeback after six years. NPE, the largest plastics trade show in the Americas, returned to the show floor with record-breaking results — more international and first-time attendees than ever before, a sold-out show floor, and brand-new attendee content and experiences to fuel a more sustainable plastics economy. Damaris Piraino, Senior Director, Trade Show Marketing, Plastics Industry Association; Arlene Davis, Director NPE Content and Experience, Plastics Industry Association; and Jack Macleod, President, 360 LIVE MEDIA, will discuss how the event reengaged an evolving industry to attract high-quality attendees.
