CHICAGO — The Events Venture Group (EVG) has completed an investment in Deep Tech Momentum (DTM), a German company comprised of a deep tech event platform and an in-person summit in Europe.
Co-led by Dr. Martin Schilling and Isabelle Flanagan, DTM has four profitable editions under its belt, and boasts the achievement of facilitating more than $349 million (€300M) in investments.
“DTM saw in EVG the perfect partner to tap into world-class event industry knowledge,” EVG said. “Importantly, DTM doesn’t see itself as just an event company. It positions as an innovation marketplace, with the flagship conference being only one of its key pillars. Partnering with EVG at this stage allows DTM to accelerate its reach, sharpen its format and build the global marketplace for deep tech capital and customers.”
Looking to the future, DTM is looking to expand internationally while curating a founder-investor-enterprise community in the deep tech industry.
“Starting from its roots in Germany, DTM will expand across Europe into ecosystems where deep tech represents a massive opportunity, especially in regions that remain underserved by investors and high-tech customers,” EVG said. “Beyond Europe, the Middle East — particularly Dubai, Abu Dhabi, and Saudi Arabia — is a strong target region. These markets are doubling down on innovation and technology adoption, making them a natural next step for DTM’s growth.”

Speaking about this investment in DTM, EVG members shared that the strength of the founder team was a standout quality.
“They combine very high ambition with a systematic approach to building the company,” EVG said. “Just as important, we deeply believe in the topic: There is an enormous deep tech opportunity in Europe, and DTM is positioned right at the center of it. The platform creates unique value not only for European founders and corporates, but also for anyone outside Europe — whether U.S. industry players looking to access European corporate customers, or technology companies wanting to sell into Europe’s industrial base. That global bridge makes the company extremely compelling.”
“DTM is in my sweet spot for investing because its management has one of the best articulated visions I’ve heard for an event. Also, the team is immersed in its market, bringing structured thought and energy to the problem,” said Denzil Rankine, an advisor to C-suite executives and investors in technology, information, media and events, and an investor through EVG. “The team has the smarts to know what they do not know, and it’s great that EVG is able to partner with a team of this quality, and with such a clearly articulated ambition. DTM already has proof of concept for its event and has the pedigree to unite the relevant strands of the deep tech ecosystem both off-line and online. This makes it an attractive business to invest in at this time.”
