San Juan Capistrano, Calif.—Emerald Expositions has purchased RFID Journal Live! Conference & Expo from RFID Journal LLC for an undisclosed price.
The deal, which was announced Wednesday, also includes RFID Journal’s news website and RFID Connect social-media site.
In addition, Mark Roberti, RFID Journal’s Founder and CEO and an undisclosed number of his current team have joined Emerald Expositions as part of the purchase. Roberti now reports to Joe Randall, Emerald’s Executive Vice President.

Roberti added: “RFID technology is increasingly used to track and identify objects, particularly in the automotive, aerospace, defense, pharmaceuticals, farming and retail markets. I am excited that with Emerald’s scale and events expertise behind us, we will be able to expand RFID Journal LIVE! events to meet the growing needs of RFID industry worldwide.”

The purchase expands Emerald’s current Technology & eCommerce Group which includes Internet Retailer and Digital Dealer.
