HOUSTON, Texas — Easyfairs marked a key step in its growth strategy in the U.S. market with its first North American acquisition. The Brussels-based organizer acquired Energy Projects Conference & Expo (EPC), one of the largest energy projects events.
EPC was launched three years ago and has since experienced significant year-over-year growth — doubling in size with each edition. The show brings five conferences together under one roof: LNG Export;Power Generation Engineering & Construction; Petrochem + Refining Engineering & Construction; Midstream Engineering & Construction; and Alternative Energies Engineering & Construction.
“The EPC Show was initially launched in 2023 as a single-track energy conference for the LNG Export market. The subsequent growth in ’24 and ’25 were driven by the concept expansion into four additional energy verticals, and we believe that the further expansion in other adjacent energy verticals will further drive the EPC Show’s future growth, serving a wider audience, and exhibiting additional product & solutions segments,” said Arnaud Istas, Easyfairs Group Head of M&A, US.
The 2025 show attracted 4,500 attendees and more than 200 exhibitors and sponsors, according to Easyfairs. The show also features a top-tier lineup of speakers, and in 2026 will welcome representatives from McDermott International, Amazon Web Services, Dell Technologies, NVIDIA and more.
How EPC Fits into Easyfairs’ Acquisition Strategy
“Our strategy is based on the combination of acquisitions and launches in any of our 12 Easyfairs end-verticals, as those are the markets in which we have built up sector expertise, industry networks and proven brands,” Istas said. “Our strongest sectors are packaging & logistics, industrial manufacturing & processing, and we are also further strengthening all other segments like tech, healthcare and energy & environment which is a strategic one for us.”
Further Growth for EPC on the Horizon
“EPC has the perfect profile for Easyfairs to expand our presence in the vibrant and rapidly evolving energy sector. Adding EPC to our portfolio supports our goal of growing Easyfairs in the U.S. market by acquiring leading events with strong growth potential. The energy sector is on a steep growth trajectory, fueled by technological advances and rising power demands from data centers and artificial intelligence. The energy industry is undergoing a fundamental transformation, propelled by innovation in alternative and sustainable energy sources. This shift is increasing the need for professionals to meet, learn and invest in new technologies and solutions,” stated Matt Benyon, Easyfairs Group CEO.
To help amplify the already fast-growing event, Easyfairs will focus on organically growing EPC by expanding on its sub-segments (LNG Export, Power Generation, Petrochem and Refining, Midstream and Alternative Energies), extending the conference program and scaling the event concept to other energy clusters around the world.
“We have extensive experience in geo-cloning events, including in the U.S., where we launched the North American edition of Coiltech — the biggest launch in our company’s history. This brings us to two U.S. events on the map, with ambitions to add more,” stated Istas.
The current EPC team will remain intact to help drive expansion and ensure continuity.
“We are thrilled to partner with Easyfairs. Their investment will support EPC’s rapid growth, and we look forward to benefiting from their tradeshow expertise and proven systems. Our community is assured of an even better, high-quality experience,” stated Josh Bull, EPC Founder.
Looking Ahead to 2026
The next edition of EPC will take place at the George R. Brown Convention Center June 16-17, 2026.
“Looking at the growth track record, EPC has already proven its strength and ability to develop further,” Istas said. “That being said, the show initially started as a conference, leveraging the founder’s prior conference expertise, before pivoting the format into a confex with a trade show floor last year. By joining forces with Easyfairs, EPC will benefit from increased visitor and exhibitor experience and ROI thanks to Easyfairs trade show expertise, proven tradeshow processes and tech backbone delivering that added value.”
