dmg Acquires Canadian Farm Equipment Show, Racking up Third Acquisition This Year

JOAN MATHER, EXECUTIVE EDITOR

Toronto – dmg world media has completed acquisition of the Canadian International Farm Equipment Show (CIFES) with its purchase of all shares of Dawn Morris Productions. When last held, CIFES spanned over 370,000 net square feet of exhibit space. Current show managers Jane Hickman and Judy Johnston and their team will join dmg and continue to produce the show.

This is the third acquisition for dmg this year. In January, the firm acquiredPro-Expo 2000 and its Cam-Expo, a biennial trade show for the trucking industry. In February, dmg acquired three consumer events from Brand Events, Ltd., including The Vitality Show, Ordnance Survey Outdoors Show and Outdoor Adventure Show. In addition, in March dmg announced the launch of the Ideal Home & Garden Show, which will debut in spring 2005 in Glasgow, Scotland.

J. Paul Allingham, Executive Vice President of dmg world media, calls the most recent acquisition “another investment in our agriculture-related business.” The portfolio already includes the Northlands Farm & Ranch Show in Edmonton, and Farm World Exp in Terra Haute, IN, as well as Farm World weekly newspaper.

The 19th Annual CIFES will be held February 8-11, 2005 at the International Centre in Toronto.
