PORTLAND, Maine — With the acquisition of Midwest Solar Expo, Diversified Communications continues to add to its portfolio of U.S.–based conferences and trade shows focused on solar, energy storage, EV charging infrastructure and manufacturing. The news coincides with the inaugural Intersolar & Energy Storage North America Texas show — its other new regional show — in Austin this week.

“Midwest Solar Expo has built an engaged community spanning the solar + storage supply chain,” Wes Doane, Vice President, Clean Energy at Diversified Communications, said. “Future event enhancements powered by Intersolar & Energy Storage North America’s extensive experience will further strengthen its ability to help clean energy professionals navigate the region’s regulatory complexities in pursuit of renewable energy growth.”

Though Doane could not share specifics about changes in the works for these shows, he was optimistic about 2025 as he wrapped up the week in Texas. “We’ve had very positive feedback from event participants, and our expectations were exceeded for attendance. We’re excited to build on this momentum for 2025.”

One thing is for certain: Diversified Communications is focusing on empowering and connecting the next generation of clean energy professionals.

“Building upon supportive efforts in 2024, our 2025 conference and expo offers a complimentary conference pass for students — delivering access to 28 educational sessions focused on solar, storage, EV infrastructure, and manufacturing policy, technology and market trends,” Doane said. “This access offers students the opportunity to gain key insights that will further their industry understanding.”

Diversified Communications acquired Intersolar North America in 2019 and Energy Storage North America in 2020, and has continued investing in the renewable energy industry with the expansion of its Clean Energy portfolio. Today, the portfolio is made up of events, conferences and digital networks, including Energy Storage North America, Smart Energy Decisions, Net Zero Forum, Renewable Energy Forum, Intersolar & Energy Storage North America Texas — and now, Midwest Solar Expo. In addition to its media portfolio, Diversified Communications owns and operates a 1.5-megawatt solar farm in Brunswick, Maine.

“The addition of Midwest Solar Expo to our Clean Energy portfolio further strengthens our commitment as a company to the renewable energy sector,” Oakley Dyer, Corporate Vice President, Strategy & Corporate Development at Diversified Communications, said. “This acquisition was a perfect fit, both strategically and culturally.

“We are always looking for acquisitions that align not only with the industries that we serve but also our values as a business. Diversified is a unique acquirer in the B2B media landscape, as one of the few family-owned companies of scale.”
