Gainesville, FL – Advanstar Communications Executive Vice President Alex DeBarr left the company after 21 years to become to become president and CEO of Naylor LLC, a Florida provider of B2B business solutions for associations. DeBarr’s position at Advanstar involved management of most of the company’s portfolio of magazines, events and online products in a variety of fields, including entertainment, healthcare, travel and power sports. He came aboard at Naylor’s Gainesville headquarters on May 15th. DeBarr replaces Michael Noss, who has been Naylor’s president and CEO since 2000. Noss moves to the job of vice chairman with a focus on strategic growth and new business development. Naylor was sold by founder Brent Naylor and Michael Moss in August, 2005 to Clarity Partners, the Los Angeles-based private equity firm focused on media and telecommunications investments, and ZelnickMedia, which owns or manages several media and entertainment-related companies.
