Santa Monica, CA – Industry veteran David Korse will step down April 4 as vice president of Nielsen Business Media’s Merchandise Group.
Korse made the announcement to his staff last week after 16 months on the job. He told Trade Show Executive he would do independent consulting work while exploring future opportunities in the trade show sector. “This change will provide me with the opportunity to try to do something on my own for the first time in several years and I’m excited about whatever is next.”
David Loechner, senior vice president of Nielsen’s Retail Group, told Trade Show Executive that Korse will not be replaced but his duties will be handled by Chris McCabe, group sales director, and by Loechner.
Korse came to Nielsen after a long career with Reed Exhibitions; served as CEO of Imark Communications for seven years; and headed up IDG World Expo Corp. from 2003 until 2006.
He is a past chairman of the Center for Exhibition Industry Research (CEIR) and served on the board of the Society of Independent Show Organizers (SISO) and the International Association of Exhibitions & Events (IAEE).
