Fort Atkinson, WI – Cygnus Business Media placed its Heavy Construction Group, including the unit’s only trade show, up for sale in February and has retained Corporate Solutions, LLC to handle the offering.
The group is the latest Cygnus asset to go on the blocks. The company last year sold its Agriculture Group to the American Farm Bureau Federation.
According to Cygnus CEO John French, the company’s Heavy Construction Group is a highly profitable multi-platform media business with a strong earnings and growth trajectory. “The right strategic buyer for the Heavy Construction Group will provide us with an opportunity to improve our overall balance sheet and provide a substantial return to our ownership group,” said French.
The Heavy Construction Group is one of three components of the Cygnus Construction division. It includes seven print publications and the National Pavement Expo, which spanned 30,000 net square feet of exhibit space and drew 2,300 attendees to Fort Lauderdale in January. The 2015 show is set for January 28-31 at Music City Center in Nashville.
