Arlington, VA – The Navy League of the United States signed a multi-year contract with Clarion Events North America to manage its annual Sea-Air-Space Exposition.
The 2012 event, which will be held April 16-18 at the Gaylord National Resort & Convention Center in National Harbor, MD, is expected to attract 10,000 attendees and feature 200 companies covering 75,000+ nsf. Clarion Events North America will begin selling exhibit space for 2013 at the close of this year’s event which is currently managed by J. Spargo and Associates. Wayne Crawford will serve as show manager for the event.
David Audrain, president and CEO for the newly created Clarion Events North America, told Trade Show Executive that Clarion produces 20 events worldwide for the defense industry. “This management contract allows us to quickly expand our presence in North America,” he noted.
Launched in 1965, the Sea-Air-Space Exposition brings together the U.S. defense industry, private sector and key military decision-makers for an annual symposium to discuss innovation, professional education and development centered on maritime issues.
“We selected Clarion Events to manage this key event because of its worldwide experience in the defense industry,” said Kevin Traver, senior director for corporate affairs for the Navy League of the United States. “They have a proven track record of success in strategic positioning and growth for dynamic organizations.”
Clarion Events North America is launching the Counter Terror Expo U.S., which will debut May 16-17 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center in Washington, DC. Clarion, which is owned by a private equity fund managed by Veronis Suhler Stevenson (VSS), produces more than 200 events serving industries such as defense and security, leisure, entertainment, finance, retail, gaming, fine art and energy around the globe.
