Canon & IPC to Collaborate on Largest Electronics Manufacturing Show in Midwest

NICOLE BURNES, ASSISTANT EDITOR

Bannockburn, IL – Canon Communications and IPC – Association Connecting Electronics Industries will jointly produce what is being considered the largest electronics manufacturing exhibition in the Midwest. The event, to take place September 28-30 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, IL, combines IPC’s existing Midwest Conference & Exhibition and Canon’s Electronics Midwest show.

The combined event will keep the current Canon trade show name, Electronics Midwest. It will also be co-located with four of Canon’s other manufacturing exhibitions: Medical Design & Manufacturing (MD&M) MidwestPLASTEC MidwestDesign & Manufacturing Midwest; and Assembly Technology Expo. The events will attract over 1,500 exhibitors and 30,000 professional attendees in the three days at the Stephens Convention Center.

As part of the IPC trade show objective to “create a fair, focused and cost-effective event,” the Canon/IPC agreement includes special exhibit pricing for IPC member companies. Additionally, IPC will produce a technical conference, standards meetings and professional development courses to run concurrently with Electronics Midwest.

“I believe Electronics Midwest will serve the electronics manufacturing industry well. Our two organizations bring their respective strengths…to develop an unparalleled Midwest event for the electronics manufacturing industry,” said Canon CEO Charles McCurdy.
