Chicago, IL – Looking for a new way to showcase new products and hot startups? An added panel presentation at the Trade Show Executive Fastest 50 Awards & Summit will take a look at the idea of throwing up-and-coming companies and their brainchild products to the sharks.
“The Big Pitch” will give Fastest 50 delegates a first-hand look at adapting television’s “Shark Tank” competition at their show for publicizing new products in order to build the pre- and post-show buzz and encourage exhibitors to bring their A game to the show floor.
ABC’s “Shark Tank” has become a prime-time hit as budding entrepreneurs deliver their best pitch to a panel of investors who then decide if their new product or idea is worth betting actual money on.
The format has also been tried out in the trade show arena by the long-time show organizer Stanley Schwartz, one of the notable show directors of The Super Show. Another one of his shows, The Sports Licensing & Tailgate Show, recently sold to Emerald Expositions, features a “Big Pitch“ session showcasing the most intriguing new products to be found on the show floor. Exhibitors vie for this distinction because winning official recognition at the show is a prestigious feather in their cap and gives them massive exposure afterwards, thanks to the boost from some of the best marketing minds in the nation.
Brian Hakan, president and CEO of Brian P. Hakan Associates, will lead the discussion, with Kevin Harrington, president, The Big Pitch and a Shark on ABC’s “Shark Tank;” and Caleb Sheppard, managing partner of Rio Creative.
