Advanstar Finalizes ENK Acquisition; Names Eric Lisman CEO of New Property

HIL ANDERSON, SENIOR EDITOR

New York, NY – Advanstar’s high-profile acquisition of fashion exhibition organizer ENK International LLC was finalized this month and Advanstar veteran Eric Lisman has been elevated to CEO of ENK.

The acquisition by Advanstar Global LLC gave Advanstar a larger presence in the apparel industry in New York and Las Vegas to go along with its venerable MAGIC and PROJECT brands.

“Having ENK, MAGIC and PROJECT within the same family of companies provides the fashion industry a choice of intimate and customized environments that satisfy their market needs,” said Joe Loggia, CEO of Advanstar Global. “This allows us to be more responsive to our customers as we work to coordinate dates and venues, and that makes the process more valuable for exhibitors and retailers.”

ENK and Advanstar Communications will continue to be operated separately, and certain properties were transferred to better serve the customers of both businesses, as well as the overall fashion market. The realignment of events included adding PROJECT Women’s to the ENK portfolio. The WSA footwear events, Sole Commerce footwear shows, ENKNYC and ENK Vegas will be added to the Advanstar roster.

Lisman was dispatched to ENK from Advanstar where he had been executive vice president of corporate development. A Harvard Law School graduate, Lisman had also served as senior vice president and general counsel at Reed Business Information.

Tom Nastos will remain president of ENK and have responsibility for its day-to-day operations. Scott Chowan moves up from Advanstar’s corporate development officer to CFO for ENK. Sunni Spencer was named executive vice president of ENK Vegas.
