LAS VEGAS — SUPERZOO, organized by the World Pet Association (WPA) was held at the Mandalay Bay Convention Center Aug. 14-16 and, according to the WPA, claimed the title of the largest pet product marketplace again this year.

SUPERZOO 2024 welcomed more than 22,000 registrants, which is approximately 4,000 more registrants than last year, and saw a 2% increase in key retailers, buyers and decision-makers. Its show floor grew to 334,000 square feet, an approximately 4,000 square-foot increase from last year, and featured more than 1,100 exhibitors.

Additionally, more than 1,100 new products debuted at the event.

“Our growth this year was no accident — it was the result of a strategic focus on quality,” Mike Karsting, Senior Vice President at the World Pet Association, said. “But it’s not just about numbers; it’s about the impact these attendees bring to the table. We aimed to attract the industry’s top players, those who are truly driving innovation and success in pet retail. By curating a high-caliber audience and providing a platform that delivers real value, SUPERZOO 2024 reinforced its position as the must-attend event for leaders and innovators in the pet retail space.”

Karsting called SUPERZOO 2024’s diversity “incredible” and shared that nearly 3,000 international attendees visited the show this year.

“We were grateful for the support from both new and returning industry leaders like Hill’s Pet Nutrition, Purina [and] ADM … These sponsors understand the value of collaboration, and their support was instrumental in making SUPERZOO 2024 a success. It’s through these strong partnerships that we can continue to push the boundaries of what this event can offer to the pet retail community,” Karsting explained.

New features at SUPERZOO’s 2024 edition included Lunch and Snack Lounges where attendees could rest and network.

SUPERZOO reported growth in key metrics in 2024.

The show also introduced two new education sessions: the Pet Industry Powerhouse Panel, which covered business strategy, and a Why Have LIVE Animals Panel, which explored the market impact of in-store creatures.

SUPERZOO 2024 also facilitated meetups for young pet professionals, representatives from minority-owned businesses and more. Additionally, attendees could use a “Brand Values” filter on the show’s mobile app to find exhibitors who aligned with their social priorities.

SUPERZOO’s Beach Party, held Aug. 15 at the Mandalay Beach and sponsored by Hill’s Pet Nutrition, offered live music and time to decompress as well.

“SUPERZOO 2024 focused on creating spaces for meaningful interactions and expanding educational opportunities for attendees,” Karsting explained. “SUPERZOO 2024 was a tremendous success, but we’re already looking ahead to 2025. We’re committed to making next year’s event even more impactful, with new opportunities for growth and innovation. We’re excited to welcome the industry back to Las Vegas and continue building on the strong foundation we’ve established.”

SUPERZOO’s 2023 edition will be honored as one of the 100 largest trade shows in the U.S. last year at the 2024 Trade Show Executive Gold 100 Awards & Summit

“SUPERZOO’s success lies in its ability to consistently deliver what the industry needs: a dynamic mix of product discovery, education and networking. We don’t just host an event — we create an experience that drives business forward … By listening to our attendees and continuously evolving to meet their needs, we’ve built a platform that’s recognized as one of the best in the industry,” Karsting said.
