LAS VEGAS – The gaming industry is on a roll, as evidenced by attendance at the recent Global Gaming Expo (G2E) 2022.

The 22nd edition of the annual American Gaming Association trade show, which is organized by RX, drew 25,000 global gaming professionals to The Venetian Expo over four days—nearly double 2021’s attendance of 13,000 and just shy of 2019’s total of about 27,000. The number of exhibitors was up 42% as well, with more than 350 taking up 252,000 square feet.

“The U.S. commercial gaming market has been experiencing record growth, with August 2022 marking the 18th consecutive month with positive year-over-year gaming revenue growth, along with Tribal gaming revenue results continuing to be stronger than ever,” Korbi Carrison, Event Vice President, G2E, RX, said. At the core of this year’s success, she said, is the fact that “the gaming industry is resilient and the community was eager to network in person, discover new technology and products, and learn from peers about the latest trends.”

Perhaps the most exciting new offering at G2E this year, Carrison said, was the addition of the G2E Networking Lounge. “The area was created to respond to the request of attendees for more space to network and conduct meetings in the expo hall. This unique space included a custom hand-drawn photo activation, dedicated meeting space and happy hours presented in partnership with two special interest groups, the African Americans in Gaming and the Innovation Group’s ‘40 Under 40’ award celebration.”

The education featured six keynote conversations and more than 80 education sessions across nine tracks, with an emphasis on segments of the industry that have a strong trajectory, including sports betting, online gaming and financial technology.

G2E won the “Most Extreme Results from Social Media” Grand Award at Trade Show Executive’s 2022 Gold 100 Awards & Summit last month. The metrics from its 2021 award-winning show were impressive—especially the 2,450% year-over-year (YOY) increase in engagement on LinkedIn. Twitter engagement was also up 1,605% YOY and Facebook was up 390%.

G2E will return to The Venetian Expo October 9-12, 2023.
